A lunar landscape, a fossilized coral reef sculpted by erosion—welcome to the reef island of Rangiroa. Disembark on our motu (islet) and its fine sandy beach along a narrow inlet (hoa). Crystal-clear waters and sharks await you. Then, head to the reef side of the atoll to a unique and extraordinary site: dark rocks, dozens of fossils, and pools filled with deep-sea water. In the Tiputa Pass, observe the resident dolphin colony and snorkel in the aquarium. The reef island excursion is a day full of excitement !
Itinerary for the day
Transfer between 8:00 and 8:30 AM from your accommodation.
8:45-9:00 AM: Departure for the reef island.
10:00-11:00 AM: Arrival, swimming & light snack (coconut, water, and juice).
11:30 AM-1:00 PM: Reef tour (feo) and return snorkeling.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Aperitif and lunch (Polynesian buffet barbecue: rice, raw fish, grilled fish and chicken, coconut bread).
2:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Free time.
2:30 PM: Departure from Reef Island and crossing to Tiputa Pass.
3:45 PM - 4:15 PM: Dolphin watching in Tiputa Pass.
4:15 PM - 4:45 PM: Snorkeling at the Tiputa Coral Garden (aquarium site).
4:45 PM: Disembarkation at the Marina and transfer to your accommodation.
Who is this tour for ?
This excursion is suitable for all visitors who are able to move around independently, climb aboard and disembark a boat using a ladder, and are of any age. Swimming skills are recommended.

What we recommend you bring
To fully enjoy this excursion, we advise you to bring a swimsuit and a towel, shoes for walking in the water, sunscreen, lycra and a hat, your personal snorkeling equipment.

Transfers to accommodations
Transfers to and from your accommodation are by car or directly by boat. Our team will contact you or your accommodation the day before the excursion between 6 pm and 8 pm to confirm the exact time, mode of transport, and meeting point. Transfers begin at 8:15 am.
Transfers are provided by car for accommodations located in Avatoru.
Transfers are not provided for remote accommodations: Rangiroa Bliss and Tihimani Lodge.
If you are staying at Aotera Guesthouse, meet at 8:30 am at Avatoru Marina to board our boat. Please arrange your transfer to Avatoru Marina with your accommodation provider.
For participants staying in the village of Tiputa, meet at 8:50 am at the Tiputa dock for direct pick-up by boat.
